Machining an adaptor ring (Isuzu/Rover) wouldn't be a problem, just about 20mm depth and it would take me back to a rigid coupling.
This was my first adaptor; a 40mm think alloy plate bolted to both the Isuzu gearbox and LR extension housing.
The Isuzu gearbox has 'overhead' mounting, but I think the driver side one may foul the front snout of the LT-230. So I'll have to see, but I may also fit a bracket on the new steel plate being machined to support the Isuzu gearbox.
Hello all.
Brief update - the replacement 'donut' has arrived (see pics)
Machinist not yet finished with the gearbox plate.
Fingers crossed they will be done before their Christmas break but I won't be holding my breath- a man's entitled to break every once and a while!
