Thread: Pick my County up on Friday

Spent yesterday cleaning her and getting her looking mint, more than likely going to take the bull bar and front tow bar off today. Going to give the inside a quick wipe down as well, must admit she's totally straight and original.

Might have a slight problem! When I bought her the wife sort of didn't know, I did discuss changing my car but she assumed it would be for a newer one and not one twice as old as the Disco! So she's not happy and wants me to sell her, I said we'll talk about it tomorrow (today) so it could be up for sale

I'll post some more pictures latter, this is her after 6 hours hadr graft on the body!

That looks nice. Don't sell it, you will regret doing so. The wife will get over it, maybe even like it after an outing or two.

It depends on the condition, service history, klms and general condition of the Wife.
You can probably compare to the used car market.
You won't get a lot for a 93 Hyaundai excel with 300,00k and six owners .
Although a 70's 2 door rangie with low k and good service history will be worth heaps.
Maybe there's an online site like wifesales. com ?
Not to be confused with "wifeswap.com "where all you get is another wife.

Thanks for the comments lads, in talks at the moment and should know what "we're" doing in the next day or so, my Lad is all for it as we're doing up a 2a for him so he's kinda brainwashed anyway! My daughter wants me to get a Rang Rover as "The Kardashians" have them, I'd like a diesel Rangie but bit out of my league at the moment!

If I do have to sell I'll put it on Carsales for a stupid amount and carry on driving until it sells, which with the stupid amount would take a while. The thing is she's very unmolested, straight and original, just coming up to 296,000km and runs bloody ace. No rust what so ever and tell tail signs that she's been loved, new brake cylinders, newish shocks, near new tyres, I even found some spares under the seat. After driving her the last few days to me there is no need for a turbo unless you're going to be towing something, what a great engine and box.

Anyway, enough from me I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Wow! She buffed up well with a bit of elbow grease.
Very nice looking vehicle and I would say by the reports you hear about 4BD1 Counties, it has at least 750,000 kays left in it.

    Cheers, Mick.

Yes it does, the only things that don't work are the front washer, cig lighter and rear wash/wipe, these will be sorted out over the next few weeks.
Next Saturday 'll be fitting the lads engine and Sunday I need to carry on with my bike restoration!

That's what I've read as well, so if that's right she'll last quite a few more years! The way I look at it is with Land Rover price going up and up I can't loose really!
