Question Need a turbo exhaust manifold for 4bd1

    Hey guys and gals,

I got a mate with a 4bd1 in a County who wants to turbo it. Anyone got suggestions as to where we can get an exhaust manifold suitable for a turbo for the 4bd1?

Location is on the Sunshine Coast, Qld.

    many thanks,
    Winston

    Ahh...

    A 4bd2 exhaust manifold will fit a T3 flange'd turbo onto a 4bd1.

So... anyone know where I can get a 4bd1T exhaust manifold or a 4db2 exhaust manifold round brissie / sunnie coast?

I'll start calling wreckers tomorrow, but I thought a few pointers might be got here!

    Cheers.
    Winston!

As I posted elsewhere on here:

I just went and bought one from ISUZU. $310+GST And that is the PERTH price. East coast is probably $50 less. I can post a pic if you want me to prove it is the same.

Thanks Dougal and Matt - that has probably saved me making a custom manifold.

And for the record, the parts guy said it fits an NPR59 '89 on (4BD1T). Can also post PN if anyone is interested.

EDIT - here are some pics - showing PN for anyone interested:

Winston, your local ISUZU dealer will have them, failing that, Don Kyatt, but they are about $50 more than ISUZU.

    On a related note.

Where do your engine dipsticks come out. Mine is between the #1 and #2 exhaust ports, I need to shift it to fit the above manifold.

I have designs for a turbo adapter plate to fit a T25/T28 turbo to the T3 flanged manifold shown above.

    isuzurover: you're a legend!

Thanks for that. I must confess, I did the cardinal sin and posted before searching. Last night I did a search and as usual there is so much stuff on the forum. I hadn't even got to the post from your pictures above. Sometimes you have got to know exactly what post you're looking for.

    Much thanks!

Dougal, mine was bolted to the head between 2 and 3. With a bit of tweaking of the tube and the mounting tab, it now bolts up to the boss just in front of the turbo flange. I can take a pic if you want?

    Winston - no problem.

A pic would be great, but you're not worried about burning the rubber seal in the top with it bolted to the manifold itself?

We will see... If that happens I can always make one from teflon...
