Rangie, 120 lifted, and air spring... Should give you an idea of its length and has no compressed air in it


These were a tight fit but made it with a bit of weight loss


Had to drill the lower captives and drop tapered screws in here as shown before


The piston. This has a lot to do with the desired ride height and progressive loading.


The old setup, wasn't bad but couldn't cope with the big weights I carry all the time. Be fine in a normal application

thanks for the pictures mate, I think I would need the longer travel kit. it is good to hear that the ride is better though.

Thanks for posting... im still thinking of doing this to the 130.
Is that the airbag man kit you have used?
I like the idea of just buying in three airsprings from US (one spare) and making the bracketry.

I've decided I'm going to convert the front to full air as well. Just have to move the shocks out and manufacture new top mounts. Still have to take some better measurements yet. The 110/130 rear kit wont fit as larger. Either manufacture my own mounts of use RRC rear kit with similar air bags I have now.

For this reason I have ordered a complete 4 way control setup with electric valve blocks.

Will be much neater and fully independently controlled.
Also fitting a regulator,dryer and external air hose.
Should be good when done. Be able to lower it down a bit to get in and out Also lower it down for the highway work. Still be able to lift it for the real rough work here.
I'm also seriously looking at fitting sway bars with quick disconnects if I can make it fit up with all the movement under there

This is what I would like to able to do with my RRC. I have been toying with the idea of variable height spring mounts...

Perhaps hydraulic, or a simple thread arrangement, or air pistons.

I came across a coil over arrangement years ago that did exactly what your after. I doubt it would be engineerable but worked a treat Was so crude Had two bits of RHS with lots of holes drilled. Jack it up and select the desired lift Would have had problems with trailing arm angles and steering geometry wile fully lifted as had over 12" of adjustment

Still working on the front set up.

I tried a fender rear sway bar but turns its self inside out on full down travel

Any ideas? Need some thing longer I think.

Went to Newcastle yesterday to pick up a Series 11a and a HD 8'Blade for my FWA Loader. The air bags made the 120 a delight as could set the ride height right where I wanted it and evened out side to side. No swaying of any nonsense from the trailer at all.

I had forgotten how well the 4BD1T tows and also how economical it is wile doing so

On the way down I had to keep looking in the mirror to make sure I still had the trailer. Didn't know it was there.
Got some funny looks wile over taking a few on the way down I turned the fuel screw out another 1/4 when I serviced it before I left. Has had no effect on the EGT but the turbo spools up much earlier now. Leaves a slight cloud wile starting off at the lights etc
