I'll see if I can find the right number. It is best to quote the part number of the aircleaner to get the correct valve. The standard ones go to pieces very quickly. However, they will last on a turbo as it takes out the pulsations.

In the Donaldson catalogue that Isuzubob posted they list a harder valve as an option, which is part number P105220. Is that the one I should be fitting for a normally apirated 4BD1?

The correct part number for the Vacuator ( dump valve) is P106593.

Ah, that's the higher durometer version of a second 76mm Vacuator valve listed in the Donaldson catalogue. I couldn't see what the difference was between the two 76mm versions they list and in the photo they look almost identical. Can anyone enlighten me?

I'm just quoting from an early (September 1983!) JRA One Ten parts catalogue

    Thumbs up

I fitted the new dump valve that Christopher sent me (P103198) last Monday (still waiting for that PM Christopher! ) and also adjusted the rear brake shoes, as the brakes were becoming less and less effective, and haven't driven it since other than a quick test of the brakes which were much better. I drove The Red Beast to Lithgow this morning for a bit of Xmas shopping and realised I wasn't needing to change down for every bit of hill as I used to have to! I drove the whole way in 4th and although it does slow down on the rises it doesn't die the way it used to.
