We can't hear the tick because the Isuzu is so noisy. Can't even have a conversation with your passenger. The winged sump is a way of saying if you had one , you would have an Isuzu and therefore couldn't tell if your indicator ticked or not, because of the noise level of the motor.
We've never heard it tick, so don't believe it does....

    Meanwhile, back at the farm....

rar110, any chance of some pics?

hopefully I'll be taking delivery of my Isuzu this week and first job is sound proofing...

I'm even thinking of getting a db meter to measure the before and after results doing different things.

    sound proofing

I can hear my indicator tick.

But seriously, I have been soundproofing the floor, trans tunnel etc.
but the next step is to replace all the door rubbers because a lot of noise is wind noise through the gaps.
The other adjustment is the volume control on the radio.

    What product did you use?

I was going to get a set from Tru-Fit, starting with under bonnet and working backawards. Is the Pyrotek worth the extra cash or do the Tru-Fit panels work as well? (or better, as they advertise..)

Are you using standard LR seals, or a big roll of aftermarket stuff?

    sound proofing

I used the dense black rubber sheet that goes by the commercial name of Armorflex I think. Same as the rubber used for water pipe insulation.

I Probably need to add some heavier thin sound deadner under the rubber.

I have not obtained door rubbers yet, but I am after any suggestions from others regarding brand, supply etc.

yeah thats what I thought. I figured it was a noise level thing after the ear muffs post just got confused when clean started talking about a winged sump......I might of got it if it was remotely funny.
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    isuzu noise

My experience is different I find that my wife and 2 teenage kids talk more in my car, its closer a family time
I think it because the mp3 music players with earphones are pointless they still hear the engine.
