Have you balanced your engine to get it to rev to 4400 smoothly???
Some data for governor calibration of the truck version, gives engine revs as 2500 to 3000.

Yes, my engine has been balanced and IP is at a shop for adjustments.

Mine was fully balanced, but it's still fairly noisey and grumbly above 3000rpm. Spends most of it's time between 1500 and 2000rpm.
That's how I got 3400 on the ones I have driven. Found where you hit the governor in 3rd gear and calculated based on actual road speed.

No guarantees your pump hasn't been adjusted at some stage...

I find mine doesn't like to rev above 3000 rpm as well. Mine hasn't been balanced though.

2945 rpm by my calculation, but that seems incorrect.

B92 8NW is correct. Seems like yours is governed at a measly 3000rpm.

    To calculate for yourself:
    35" x 2.54 / 100 = 0.889m * pi = 2.793 m = circumference of your tyre

    140 km/h / 60 =2.333 km/min * 1000 = 2333.3 m/min

    2333.3 / 2.793 = 835.5 rpm at the wheel

    835.5*3.54*0.996 = 2945 ~ 3000 rpm at the wheels.

See that maths you learnt at school was useful for something

Btw - as a sparky you should know that AC power wouldn't have been possible without Rafael Bombelli defining imaginary number theory in 1572. Which was considered at the time a pointless excercise in pure mathematics - most of his colleagues took tghe **** out of him.... Imaginary numbers are things like SQRT(-1)

If he'd called it something other than "imaginary" there may have been less urine extraction.

Actually I think it was his detractors which coined that term.

    Thanks slug_burner
