    Matt.
    I have two boxes, a MSA-5P and MSA-5R.
The P is approx 86 vintage and has a steel bellhousing, the R is approx 91 vintage and has an aluminium bellhousing. There's around 20kg difference in weight between the two.

I'd also estimate 60kg for the box with aluminium bellhousing, 80kg for the steel.

The earliest references I've found for 6 sp Isuzu boxes which came from an Isuzu published Australian model ID poster were:

    1984 SCR700 & SBR480B with 6BG1 - MBG6R
    1984 SBR482 with 6BD1 - MBG6P
    1986 FSR12KTRA with 6BD1T - MBG6P

Sorry, don't have any other detailed specs.

The MBG6P seems to be fitted to the 6BD1 and has the right tare and GVM so I'll look further into it.

    Thanks everyone.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
