you're memory isnt so much vague as it is imagination.
I can vaguely recall that the RAAF landies (perenti) CDL was lever operated. Has anyone converted their vacuum set up to a mechanical one.
If so any good?
Any advice and guidance would be valued

Ours is going to a mechanical set up, and 'the109' on here runs a lever set up on his. I am about half way through doing ours.
To get the actuator off you have to chisel through it to get to the bolt that holds it on to the internal part.
The diaphragm on the actuator can eventually perish. I have seen a few people who have used a clippard minimatics vacuum switch as used to actuate a maxi-drive.

They have them and a clamp that goes around the outside to hold the two halfes together
Just to summarise.
If I am going to use an LT85/LT230 behind a 4BD1 for the SIIB conversion(yes Ben I have been talked into it, and have committed to the purchase of both) are people suggesting I should retain the vacuum CDL or use the Disco lever operated CDL LT230 I already have?
I would imagine that fitting a vacuum switch would be easier than routing the mechanical setup to the forward control position.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
I thought it was the LT95 that has the vacuum CDL (mine does), with the LT85 and later having the mechanical linkages already?
