Vern The MXA will bolt to the MSA BH with some machining to the bottom bearing recess the bottom needs to be dropped 3mm? for 100mm bearing spacing I think bush 65 did this for a 6 speed MXA
AM
Just to make sure i have this right, bottom section of the centre hole on the bellhousing need machining for clearance? Correct?
Now any idea on the other gearbox dimensions? Will the adapter housing bolt straight on?
Oh ok. Think i will get my msa box out, find a mxa box and compare the differences
Vern, I feel your pain.... only i was not on holiday and only 90km from home, so i guess you win!
Same as yours, very clean break, no big bang. Actually spent an hour tinkering (hoping) the it was just the transfer lever mech wouldn't re-engage.
No great load, went easy into a 'puddle', diff'd out, engaged both lockers, wheels spin easily for 5 seconds then nothing.
Had my pregnant wife and 2yo with me so definitely wasn't thrashing it.
Healthy baby girl born two days later(i gotta stop having kids, this thing also broke soon after my first. Haha. )
Anyway, not trying to put anyone down or anything, just trying to be constructive in finding a solution. Watching the "Adaptor shaft" thread keenly.
Anyone else with this shaft should take note if planning to travel remote.
For reference, mine has 50,000 km of mixed use. Daily drive, touring, and occasionally what i would call punishing day trips.
Turbo'd 10,000 km ago but only a t25.
My adaptor case did try to fall part early on, so this may have weakened it.
