I just stripped my IHI turbo to rebuild but it''s too far gone,so now I'm looking at what the best options are for a replacement. If the vnt is too tricky would the garrett as fitted to the late 4BD1T's and manifold be the way to go?
There's so much talk of different turbo's and some being better than others,I would like to hear from peoples first hand experience of a good reliable set up.
    Cheers Eric.
The cheapest and easiest, you can slot garrett T25/T28 mounting holes so they'll fit your IHI manifold. I'm running this setup.

Then you've only got the dump pipe and air side to worry about.

Hmm. I have a re-built one of these sitting under the work bench in my shed. Bush bearing version. I'm still waiting on a roadworthy before I can pick up my Isuzu, but I might look into the conversion.
