Isuzu LT230 Transfer Gear Part Numbers ??

    Greetings all.

Needing (as opposed to wanting) to replace some of the Transfer gears in my 2/86 110 Isuzu 5 speed.

Have been getting confilicting advise on part numbers and prices from different suppliers. (like 4 fold changes in price, and up to 3 different numbers for one of the components)

I'm hoping that someone here who has been through all this can advise with certainty...

    Transfer is original LT230T # 23D 015501 B

Input gear is *definitely* FRC5428, 26 teeth 27mm wide

    Intermediate set is 44t high, 41t input 19 t low all 27mm

Low range output is 40t 27mm with HRC 1481 and 2358673 cast into it

    High range output is 28 t 27mm

Low and High have 16 selector dogs.

I definitely need to replace the high gear and the selector hub assembly and depending on cost may even replace low gear wheel..

Can someone please let me know part numbers that actually fit and work :-)

P.S. if anyone knows the location of parts manuals for isuzu county 5 speed, I'd be interested in hearing more.

    cheers

    daryl

I know the gears are higher than the Disco's 1:2 but not sure of the ratio. I have a workshop manual but I doubt there would be one for an Isuzu, especially a 5 speed. In any case the only difference would be the gears you are after.
BTW if you are in Melb I have a LT230 up for grabs out of a county that might have been in front of yours on the assembly line..

These are taken from an old Maxi-Drive brochure. However, they don't appear in my One Ten parts catalogue (up to Aug 1986).

I have just replaced some gears in my transfer, my county is a V8 though. Be carefull of the bearing spacing on the input gear if you replace it, as there are a few differences. I ended up making a shim. One thing to look out for is wear on the spline on the main shaft and input gear. There is a flinger that you can fit and a modified gear you can fit to stop this from happening. Tim

I have a LT230T overhaul manual but it doesn't list the 23D......B. I also looked on the Ashcroft website and they don't list the 23D......B either.

So perhaps they were only used in the Isuzu powered 110.

I would think the difference is the high range ratio and I would be very careful that whoever you deal with can confirm the high range gears are definitely for your t/case.
