That's why I used the past tense! In fact, when I used to frequent McChucks more often than not it was actually quicker to walk in, order & walk out than sit in a queue for the drive-thru.

This all reminds me of when Dave S and I rolled up to the Canadian border in an Oz ISUZU 110 county. They have a "drive through" type window to speed up the crossing - A bit like a toll booth.

The starter motor had died that morning, somewhere around oregon, so we had push started it and just kept the motor running all day, as we were keen to get back to Canada ASAP.

I drove up to the window, Dave was in the passenger seat (so the US/Can driver's side). The conversation went something like:

Border Person: I can't hear you over the engine, you will have to switch it off.
Dave: The starter motor died, if we switch it off we can't start it again.
Border Person: I don't care, switch your engine off.
Dave: <turns engine off> You realise we can't start it again
Border Person: Really? What are you going to do?

We then had to push the car about 30m from the drive-though window, uphill, to a carpark. After we (well mostly Dave actually ) Had been grilled for an hour or so, almost the entire border staff came out to watch us push start the 110. None of them helped though.

That was fun. Can't believe I didn't get the rubber glove

As I recall, we'd also removed the front propshaft, lost one headlight and were about to blow the head gasket. That first beer in Canada sure was good though.
