Factory data states the following about the 3.9 Isuzu
N/A 66kw @ 3200RPM and 245Nm @ 1900RPM
T 90kw @3000rpm and 314nm @ 2200 RPM
I'm guessing they are factory figures for a factory turbo
Any one have any real world figures after fitting their own Turbo and proven on a Dyno?
From memory a couple of before and after turbo dyno sheets have been posted in this forum - Andrewe for one.
Thanks John
I'll do a search
Please post a link to your findings, I'm also interested.
Instead of searching for the posts here are the pics that I saved.
Thanks John
Now I just have to work out how to read em![]()
Sorry I don't know - those dyno charts are not mine.
I can't recall who posted the first two dyno charts or the turbo that was fitted. The last dyno chart was posted by andrew e - IIRC he did not use a stock Isuzu 4BD1T turbo.
I had hoped whoever posted them would see this thread and comment. The alternative if you need more info is to search through old threads here - I'm not about to do that.
Fitting a turbo to a n/a 4BD1 may not give any power increase unless there was some surplus fuel that was not being burnt due to lack of air before the turbo.
To get an appreciable power increase when a turbo is fitted, it is necessary to turn the full load screw out - how much fuel and power can be increased then depends on how much air the turbo can provide.
So even if the same turbo was fitted to 2 different 4BD1 engines, there can be large differences in power due to how the fuel injection pump was adjusted.
BTW, I will post up figures when my truck goes on a dyno sometime early (I hope) in the new year. My Borg Warner turbo is larger than others here and from the info I have, it should deliver enough air to burn all of the fuel the stock injection pump can provide when max'ed out (170 to 180 cc/1000 strokes).
Edit: IMHO, the power increases shown on those dyno charts is mediocre compared to what the engine is capable of in our vehicles. Massive is not a word I would use to describe it.
Thats why I haven't been game to dyno mine yet I am worried about the clutchEven winding the fuel off in recent months I still have more than adequate torque and still the clutch doesn't really feel up to it. 6X6 spec pressure plate is next on the list, OR another foray into autobox research
(4HP24E and compushift???)

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
