    sounds good!
Anyway the intercooler i got was to suit an RX7, the core size from memory was 24"x 11"x 3.5". Don't know if this will fit a county though. If you go to fleabay and searh 'intercooler rx7" one the same will come up but with a much smaller core size. Fits real well in a RR

has anyone measured the inlet to outlet temperature difference to work out what cools better?

Dick smith have a dual imput, dual display handheld j/k theremocouple reader for around $100. With my old water to air intercooler (off a supra TT) i was getting between 40 and 50 degrees drop. (i dont think this was very good)

i will be mounting a more compact one in the next few months similar to the ones available on ebay US, and it would be interesting how it compares to the air to air ones.

    Hi Andy,

Have you got a link or a Dick Smith part number? I have only done a 'touch test' with mine but at the time I thought at least 40 to 50 degrees after a 100km'h run up a steep hill.

Water to air is better all round, up to 4 times as efficient as ATA, and will work at low vehicle speeds which is its obvious advantage

Probably this one >>>>>> Deluxe Dual Input Thermometer <<<<<<<

It's got just the right function for what you would want to know too....Selectable dual temperature or temperature differential displays

There's others around too............ Duel Digital Thermometer............PROFESSIONAL HVAC DUAL INPUT THERMOCOUPLE THERMOMETER $69.95

The thermocouple leads are too short to reach from a FMIC to the dash. Can they be extended, or would you need to buy longer one's ?

    Cheers, Murray

Thats the one Murray. My ic is a top mount so the leads were all good.

The probe wires dont need to mount in the ic though, you could put one wire in the airstream of the turbo outlet, and the other in the airstream of the inler manifold. There should be enough length then.

I have one of those thermometers, bought for exactly that reason.
It works well but eats 9V batteries and has no backlight.

The probes it uses are K type, you can extend them with "compensating cable" but you have to use the correct joiners to avoid creating other thermocouples at wire joins. I use mini k-type connectors like the yellow ones that plug in the top of the thermometer.
