You haven't mentioned what you are going to run it with ?Unless you were going to run an LS1 or LS3 and tyres larger than 35's,35 spline chromo axles will be way over the top for normal use.
The best way I found to go with the ratio change has been to go with a Dana 60 4.1 gear set, which will require a custom pinion flange in the rear Salisbury. And in the front,an Ashcroft reverse cut 4.12 R&P.
Keith can help with the Dana gear set, complete with all bearings etc,as well as the custom made pinion flange.
I run this setup, with a Detroit in the rear and a McNamara in the front with Keiths chromo axles and CVs on 35's,and it all works a treat.

Yep. True. But it is the RATIO that I am after. If I can run same same front and back I see this as a good thing. There is not much price difference between HD 24 spline rover gear and the "whole hog" set up of 35spline set up. Seems to me that you might as well!
As far as Ashcroft v Kam, I would say that the KAM 4.7 is just about the toughest gear set for a rover
That is exactly what I have been trying to explain, and is the setup that I run
But there is a distributor in Vic. that will tell anyone that will listen just how great the KAM stuff is.And I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that he sells it.
And because of the tooth count 4.7:1 will be one of the weaker gear sets for a Rover.

LOL!!! I thought that that would create a bit of a stir!!
Anyways, I was only messing about with the Kam stuff(re the 4.7, I was only looking at the 4.1 Kam gear because it was an exact match for the 4.1 rear that I had found) if the 4.11 and 4.12 are a good match then I shall go down this route. Sounds good to me![]()
Got some prices off the guys at rovertracks.. GREAT bunch of people to deal with. Will go their front axles as wellCal415 was just about on the money for the 35spline conversion.. Which seems to me like great value for money... considering how much 24spline HD salisbury axles are anyway
and the ring and pinion !!! Jeezzzz, they sure do charge a premium for the salisbury ratios hey!!
Now you know why I use Keiths CV's and front axles. And why I used a Dana conversion for the rear Salisbury ring and pinion, including a custom made flange and all the bearings etc it still worked out less than half the price of a Genuine Salisbury set.And Keith is a nice guy and will go out of his way to help.Oh yeah and I will be on the phone to him tonight to order new rear axles,as I just found the rear Hi Toughs are twisted
