Amazing race, I think myself and the old man ran out of chair on lap 160!
Best outcome for whingecup I believe, serves him right for not listening to his team! Although somehow it'll be his teams fault..

Was glad to see Lowndes penalised, the commentators were making him out to be an angel in that situation!

Gotta feel for Van Gisbergen though..

    What a great race

So the two cars fighting for 1st and 2nd on the last lap both started at the rear of the grid.

And all the cars that finished 1st to 4th had been in the pits for repairs after accidents.

    Amazing!

Lots of ifs and buts,if Whincup had short shifted earlier,if Loundes had not hit Winterbottom, just the usual fantastic Bathurst

If Van giz had not stalled it...

Good to see both Nissan and Volvo very competitive!

    Bollocks, wasn't intentional at all!
Frosty gave him no-where to go.
Then again, Ingall taking out the merc wasn't intentional...

Yep, straight from the heart !gotta love it when the unpredictable happens...Morris was pinching himself I think to wonder if it was all real!

James Moffat was 8?yrs old when Nissan drivers last appeared on the Bathurst podium in 1992. a.k.a. Jim Richards and Mark Skaife in their Nissan GTR. Richards' response to the crowd's anger (@ Nissan winning) was less than flattering..

So what did young Moffat say? something along the lines of "Thank you all you lovely people" That lad has an eye for the ironic and a sharp wit... I predict good things post his racing career!

The mountain showed why it has to be respected, and why in my view its the best race in the world. The stories and the drama that unfolds every year plus the level of driving it brings out is just amazing. The people that knock V8 supercars really don't know bloody good racing when they see it. At any stage there were multiple teams that good have won it. If you said at the start of the week that HRT was going to come nowhere or Nissan would come second or Whincup would run out of fuel or Dale wood and Jack Perkins would be in the shootout you would have got laughed at. Besides all the drama at turn two,i think the nature of some of the mechanical issues was very interesting. HRT having a brake failure,Scott Pye having his tyre come off the rim,Steve Johnson transmission drama,Vangisbergen stater motor,HRT dash problems,Whincup's brain not working,But as harsh as some of the comments towards Whincup have been you have to say the performance he and Dumbrell put in today has to rate in the very top of all time driving feats seen at the Mountain, from last row on the grid to fall just short of victory is amazing, same could have been said of Reynolds.

Moztert and Morris put it together very well today,11 pit stops and still win is something special. I must admit i was not very impressed with channel 7's constant ad breaks during all the safety car and race suspension periods. Many times they would came back to the race after a very long block of ads they would mutter two or three sentences and back to the same ads that have been showing all bloody day. During these periods why not spend some time talking about the cars or some info on the teams? During the slower parts of the race channel 7 made it twice as bad for the viewers.

The #33 Volvo was more than competitive! It led for most of the race and if Scotty did not put it into the wall there would have been a Volvo on the podium...again. But....that's Bathurst. Well done to the podium finishers!!! What another great race!!
    Roll on next season.
    Regards
