The bowlers doesn't have to be in on it, they just recognise which side of the ball is smoother than the other, and shine that side as they are allowed to.

The team Ball Manager looks after the er, cough, shining,,,
which in that case was Mr Bancroft,,,
ONLY because Mr Warner had been warned about shining the ball with his bandaged fingers and thought Mr Bancroft would fly under the TV radar as the Ball Manager,,
could have been any team member,, just Mr bancroft was a nobody newbie and unlikely to gather much TV time,,,

i think your on the ball mick (excuse the pun)

smith is just as a guilty as warner. he turned a blind eye. he's meant to be leading the team, he's done just the opposite.
bancroft i might have some sympathy for depending if it was his idea or not. did warner put him up to it? would he of been able to say no to warner?

The earlier bandaged (sometimes called taped) fingers incident might explain the tape and sand granule excuse that was 1st used, this plot might be deeper than we realise.

The root of the problem it that the sport has gone out of high level sports and been replaced with profits.

At least they have some supporters.

Ball-tampering players welcome at English county team Surrey, says coach Michael Di Venuto - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

"They are quality people who I have spent a lot of time with. It was tough to watch and see them treated as criminals for something that goes on in sport."
