Update............they operated last night, cleared the wound out, there is a large flap of skin so they thoroughly cleaned under that. Kim was knocked out for this, but they didn't put the pins in as they need to monitor the wound for while in case of infection. I will fly up on Monday to Brissy airport. Jay, my son-in-law will pick me up.

Get this........the woman who owns the dog blamed Kim for not ringing first. I spoke to Kim this morning and she said the women is not her regular client and there was a warning on her job sheet but she didn't see it. When she did eventually look at it the warning it did not say the dog was vicious, only that there was a dog on the premises. With her own clients she knows of these warnings and they are usually for little yappy dogs that get locked in a room when she arrives. When she arrived at these premises, the whole house was open and the dog came charging out the door and bailed her up. Must have been terrifying for her.

The dogs owner said they kept this dog for protection.

Sorry Jim that's ****ing bull****. The dog should be put down no one needs a dog for protection unless your a drug dealer & ya deserve what ever happens to you. We have a vicious bread of dog & the day we got her we let all the kids in the street into the yard to play with her for that reason. If my dog ever bit anyone at all no matter how bad or even a nip she would be put down in a heart beat. She is a very friendly dog now cause we let everyone play with her. She does bark at people of a night but during the day anyone can walk in she won't hurt them. Probably knock them over with excitement then lick them to death. & if you need protection get an alarm or do as I do & have a couple of bars around the house for intruders.

    A shame

She received a badly mauled ankle with three bones broken and some bones sticking through the skin. She underwent surgery at Bundaberg hospital last night and the Doctors reckon she is very lucky she did not lose her foot. They had to put three pins and a plate in.

I will be flying up to see her in the next couple of days, so may be off line for a while. Probably fly out over the weekend or on Monday.

Being trying for updates this morning but could not get through.

    G'day Ausfree,

It is a shame to hear about your daughter and I hope she has a full and speedy recovery. It is sad when something like this happens and even worse when someone is providing care for the community.

How long are you staying in Bundaberg?

If you want to take a break there are a couple of fellow AULRO members here in Bundaberg.

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

Rang my daughter for an update this morning, she seems really depressed. Nothing has changed, the doctors are monitering her condition for a couple of days. The company she works for has changed their operational procedures to deal with people who have dogs!!

PM away Sorry to hear about how your daughter is no further advanced with her leg and is feeling the worst for it within herself.

Has anyone informed your daughter's employers about the one that goes "closing the stable door ...?
