Also hope to have a cuppa with LionelGee and Pop058 in Bundaberg.
Monday won't work for me Jim, not enough notice to let work know. Friday may be brief but I can give work some notice.

Turned up at the airport to fly to Brisbane today and guess what, due to "technical problems" the flight was cancelled. Next flight out was at 6pm tonight. WHAT A PAIN!!!

Now back at home, (I'm not waiting around for over 6 hours) will fly out tomorrow (hopefully) but my son-in-law cannot pick me up so will have to fly from Brisbane to Bundaberg.

I have always used the Virgin flights rather than the other mob because they are normally so reliable, this is a first for me. I have heard of delays and maybe cancellations in bad weather but not like this. Looking at the bright side I would rather fly late in a plane that is safe to fly in.

The downside is this has now cost an extra $400. I can't believe it so expensive to fly Brisbane to Bundaberg. Looked at hiring a car and driving, they wanted $522 for a small sedan for a 24 hour hire. I didn't want to buy the bloody car, I just wanted to hire it for the day. If had hired it and returned it to Brisbane airport it would have cost $72 for the day.

Jim, if you'd phoned me as soon as you heard I could have organized Tuesday off. I could have driven you to Bundy.

Didn't even think of it Ian!!!!! Even if I had I would not have asked you to put yourself out like that. Appreciate your thought though.

Well, heading back to the airport today, hoping everything will run smoothly. That episode yesterday has really shaken my confidence in Virgin. April fool's day today............................................. ....oh please, let everything procede normally.

When I asked the lady at the desk to change my booking to today she started tapping away at her computer when she said "Oh, it's April Fool's day tomorrow" and me (not being a happy chappy) replied, "I thought it was April fool's day today".

I hope today is a smoother flying day Jim.

Not just for you, my sister, BIL and niece fly in from the UK tonight......on Malaysian.

Their flight left Heathrow an hour and three quarters late, and they only originally had two hours before their Brisbane connection left. What could possibly go wrong?

My son-in-law is picking me up thanks Paul, but if you want to say G'Day I'm flying in at 4pm. Looking forward to having a cuppa with you in the next day or two. Missed out on meeting UncleHo and JerryD in Brisbane which is a bugga!!!
