    How is everyone?
I have been very busy with my teaching, so I have not been on here as much as I would have liked.
On the weekend I had my graduation. Was very long and they stuffed up my award, but I got it in the end.

    First term was/is hectic.
    Some really highs and lows.
The main issues I am facing with a 5/6 class is self esteem and mental illness. Which is tricky due to department rules. oh and building that level of trust so we can deal with it. Getting there though.
I have already had a few students and parents tell me that this is the first year they have actually enjoyed school and want to go, which is really nice to hear, as I do try to bring something that other teachers may not (I need to make up for not being bale to play an instrument or sing lol).

If you've got parents saying nice things to you, you are doing something right mate.

Most are happy to yell at Teachers or just ignore them if they are doing ok. My Dad was a Teacher for over 30 years so always got told the stories about what went on.

    Great work.

    G'day All,

It has been a while since I have posted. The start of April found me doing something that had not occurred since October 2015. That is working.

I started in a new job on the 3rd of April. It has to go down as the longest drought employment wise I have ever had. There is nothing like seeing things you would like to spend some spare money on ... um like a Land Rover Series III, well more than one... However, not having money - let alone "spare" stuff to do something with. Every time I walked past my one or two Land Rovers I offered a silent apology for them just sitting there wanting attention.

With my first full pay I ordered some parts for Rebus the pride of my Land Rover Series III fleet. How sad is that!

Fingers crossed the first weekend of May - yes 2017, should have another time sapping objective type monkey off my back. More of a gorilla the size of King Kong actually. The result of this is that I may experience something known as some "spare time" OMG! Well at least for a couple of months.

At the start of this year I got fitted with a new set of contact lenses. This was after being informed late last year that my specialist lenses and my corneas were not happy with each other. It seems that when a I get a new prescription for contact lenses a new job is not far off. I suppose it is just nature's, fate's or Karma's way of being able pay for how damned expensive the lenses are. I am working towards a slight adjustment in the order of things though. Namely, for me to be working first so I can afford the new lenses within days of being told I need a new set. Not like it has been the last two times - new lenses needed before a new job arrives.

Well I will post again once I have actually managed to achieve something - like getting Rebus moving under his own power again! Oh and stopping properly too. You know two little unimportant things!

    Kind Regards
    Lionel

These are made from 1095 steel. I'm not very happy with them as you can see where the pins are in the brass.

Hi everyone. Sorry it's been awhile since I've been on here. Been so so busy. I actually took the day off today. Haven't had one off since I started making knives full time. Things are going well for me with all that. We have some good news. Karen did the course in acute nursing aid. She did her work placement at the local uniting care nursing home & it went very well they told her while she was doing the work placement to make sure she did the online job application as they wanted her to work there. Well she did. She is now working there. Was casual & after 3 weeks offered her permanent part time. She works 25 hrs per week. & she absolutely loves it there. She is working tonight till 11pm. So we are now both working so very busy busy. Fred is still at maccas. Cody is doing a rage course in sports remedial massage he like it & is enjoying it. It's very full on & very involved.
Karen is off for a few days this week & said she will call in to see you him & mrs Aus as she has to visit a lady out that way sometime.

Thanks for that, was hoping it was 1095.

A Craftsman is his own worst critic, I think they look great. They still for sale?
