Your chips are completely useless in my Tdi why I can hardly notice any difference!
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

    Surging

Is the surging related to the ECU upgrade? I thought it was the intercooler hoses doing some weird thing due to them being rubber and a bit old .... Except for the surge (!) the upgrade has changed the car to make it sooo much better in normal use; better economy, little to no lag; who cares about some black smoke when hitting it hard; petrols do the same - ok, not as much!!!

    Mike,

My issues are the bunch of fault codes that cannot be cleared by Nanocom or LR computers.

I'm sure it's the programme as when the ECU is returned to normal programme there are no fault codes.

    Cheers,

    Franz

I'm not sure where else to turn but this thread, and hopefully someone who has a more productive relationship that I do with Mike can help get this sorted.

I sent Tombie my td5 ECU around mid Dec 2011.

On 4 Jan 2012 he advised (via PM) he had received the ECU, was waiting on programmable chips (its the old type), and would have it out shortly. He suggested he'd be able to respond quickly if contacted via text message.

On 22 Jan 2012 I asked how things were going via PM. No response.

I followed up via email on 3 February 2012. No response. PM's bounced.

I followed up again on 18 February 2012 via email and text. This time I simply asked that the ECU be returned so I could get it done elsewhere.

Someone (I don't wish to drag them into it) answered the email on Mikes behalf on 23 Feb 2012 advising that Mike was very sorry, he was away and not able to do it, and that they'd return the ECU tomorrow (not chipped) with a free EGR blanking kit as an apology. That was more than I was expecting, and would be gratefully received.

Each day I wonder as I walk to the mailbox....

I sent a follow up email on 14 March 2012 asking whether ECU has been posted yet. No response.

Anyone got any idea how I can get my ECU back (without driving to Whyalla)?

I am totally powerless and at a loss as to what to do next. I feel like I've been at this for 3 months and all that has happened is that I've lost my ECU.

Mike is currently on shift, and as such, has limited communications.

I understand that he is finishing this rotation in the next few days, so if you have his number, maybe try calling / texting on Thursday afternoon.

This matter is resolved. The ECU was returned by post today with a complimentary EGR blanking kit. Next stop Triumph Rover Spares.
