    Justin, does the ECU start to reduce fuel at that point?

    No ecu interaction; only driver input ...:-P .

    The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    Ta Justin. So with a standard fuel setting is there a risk of excess EGTs?

    I've just bought a tdv8 which will tow a RAAF trailer. I'm trying to work out if I need a EGT gauge for this Land Rover too.

    Colin,

    Does the SwissChip tuning boxes come with the ability to select different map profiles and adjust up and down the amount of additional fuel being injected like the DTUK tuning boxes?

    Check your insurance carefully, this is a specific exclusion with RACQ
    By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    Your tdv8 may already have ecu monitored egt gauges. Most recent diesels do.

    There is no need to worry unless you've bypassed any factory controls or had it remapped.

    Thanks for the PM.
    Im also concerned about high EGTs.
    Any test results would be appreciated,as you claim no effect on warranty.
    The D4 has a hard drive that is constantly recording,much like an aircraft black box,we are warned of this in the drivers handbook.
    I dont know how much data is retained,Im guessing LRA will see any spikes of high EGT and matching throttle/torque settings that are above normal.
    I have seen data logging from my CAT grader,its all there to see when the techs service the machine,brilliant technology for problem solving/protecting their warranty payouts.
    I suspect the electronics in a D4 are far more sophisticated than a CAT grader.

    Sorry guys for the late reply,

    Firstly regards, EGT
    We do not increase any EGT limits. The manufacturer ECU from the engine still control the EGT. Therefore, if the temperature is getting too high, the ECU will decrease power automatically.

    "The D4 has a hard drive that is constantly recording, much like an aircraft black box, we are warned of this in the drivers handbook."

    ->
    Yes, right. it's not just on Land rover, most of European maker has ECU a "black Box" will record over revs, max consistent speed, average RPM, etc....
    But without error code there are no logs that you worry about, after our chip all original features of the engine will remain, and are not affected.

    "in high ambient at slow road speeds (climbing hills) it is quite easy to approach high (650 to 700 C) upstream temps"
    ->
    True, if the car is in slow speed, the temps will increase very fast. But this also happen without chip. Again, if the temps are too high, the ECU will decrease power or if it is too hot, it will automatically move into limp-mode.

    Thank you guys for questions and interests in Swisschip, we appreciate all of them. For quicker replies, please email us at support@swisschip.com.au or simply call us cheers!

    Yes all the chiptuning boxes works theoretically the same, the key is on hardware quality and the software optimisation.

    Thanks for replying - just to clarify. With the Swisschip tuning box can the user adjust the settings or is it a pre-programmed set up (i.e no user adjustable settings). What I am specifically interested in is if the user can trim or optimise the set up to fine tune the performance to their liking.

    Hi DiscoDB, Yes, users can adjust setting and we let them know the max performance setting for their engines.
