Some camping areas will not let you in unless you can prove you have a portapotty with enviro chemicals. Ningaloo comes to mind, no pun intended.

we have a thetford 335 which is the smallest size and purchased because it fit in the cubby hole of the jayco penguin.

but i have to say the enviro chemicals are totally gross when it comes to emptying the tank, the proper non enviro chemicals are far better to work with.

Look for one that is not too squat, take it out of the box and sit on it, just to make sure your knees aren't up under your armpits, make sure it is comfortable to sit on.
Second make sure it has 2 squirters (flushers) and third get one with an extension on the pourer, otherwise they tend to Glug when pouring out the ****, causing it to splash and it always ends up on your feet and legs, Dometic make a good one that fits the bill.
I reckon Porta-Potti's should be compulsory, I'm sick of trying to find a camping spot that is not littered with crappy toilet paper, it may have been buried once, but as soon as the scavenger animals find it they dig it up and the paper ends up all over the place. It's good practice to take all your rubbish out with you, so don't leave your turds and paper behind, it will come back to haunt us one day, Regards Frank.

As much as bush camping is number one and I hate caravan parks / campgrounds When your touring for 3 months at a time sometimes you have to stop to refill your water / buy supplies have a proper shower & do the laundry in a proper washing machine.

agree, but then if they have showers and washing machines they would have a toilet.

as for animals digging stuff up a bit, there not many that will do that unless its $%^&*&^%^ girls business, and you do need to dig a bit more than just turning a sod any way
