Now mine is operational I can post a couple of pics.
Its not complete, ushered into service for a WA AULROians ****hing trip
Only roughly set up in the backyard due to lack of space, its a big tent.

There is canvas and flooring to enclose the area where the table is,plus the same area again with a roof, floor and shadecloth walls.

Hi Andy, I'm a bit slow and only just noticed the 2 mudflaps rear of the tow hitch on the a frame.
Do you reckon this will do the job in the same order of magnitude as the manufactured ones including those with mesh? - can't recall the names, but various have been mentioned before on here. As we all know, not only looking to protect the trailer, but also the tow vehicle rear window etc.
Very interested in any comments from users generally, as we are hopefully finally about to get our caravan monstrosity delivered and will be going off bitumen. Cheers

How do you go pulling the goldie through the soft sand ? I haven't done that with ours yet.

With any stone deflector the angle of bounce needs to be considered.
I had to increase the angle considerably on mine after suffering a broken rear window and numerous stone chips to the rear panels.

I haven't had any experience with the triangular deflectors that attach to each side of the 'A' frame but as these would deflect stones to each side instead of forward are well worth considering. The only drawback that I see with this style is that they need to be removed easily when coupling/uncoupling trailer from tow vehicle.

I fitted a StoneStomper between the D2 and KK. Works a treat! Absolutely nil stone damage to the rear of the D2 or front of the KK .... The KK trailing arms took quite a beating though as the SS pushes everything under the Kamper. Keeps a lot of the dust off the back window of the D2 as well.

... and I got 2x stone damage impacts on the back door of the KK ?? .... still pondering that one ??

Have an Internet search for obies rear screen protectors .

Plexiglass with Velcro attaching strips , work very well ,not super expensive - approx $250 .
Have a mate with a Lexus ....claims it to be cheap insurance .another customer of mine had his window on a canopy broken - it was a $1000 exercise to replace .
I have a "soft deflecter " on my camper ( outback Sturt ) and have not noticed any apparent damage to rear of car - it does catch mud tho !
