Tandem trailer choice - Help
I am in the market for a tandem trailer for general carting wood, fertiliser and eventually sheep to and from the farm. We've been using a borrowed single axle unbraked box trailer for the last couple of years but it's time to get our own with more capacity.
I'm looking at 5x10, 6x10, 6x12 sizes, no one seems to make a 5x12. I'm trying to decide if going to electric breakaway brakes are worth the added cost to get the ATM up around the 3 tonne mark to get a payload of 2 Tons. It seems that the payload you get with a tandem override braked trailer doesn't put me that far in front of the little single axle trailer i've been using.
I'm also slightly concerned that going to 6' wide will be a compromise on the general manoeuvrability.
Fitting a car on the trailer isn't really a requirement but it would be good to be able to carry two loaded pallets of fertiliser.
Towing vehicles will be the D3 and my RTV ute
All suggestions welcome
