    Bed for Defender 110

I have a Defender 110 Td5 County station wagon and would like to have a bed in the back, either permanently fitted but collapsible, or in some other way. Have thought of aluminium (have a wooden, three-section folding board at present: terribly heavy and unwieldy, and needs replacing).

Could anyone suggest a source of photos/diagrams/instructions for the kind of thing I want?

    mine:

ignore the feckin greatbig stainless bolt for wacking your head on through the roof... a previous owner is to blame for that one! still got a fair bit of work to get it up to what I want, but the space in the poptop easily sleeps two.

    My old series iii

dirty big piano hinge across the front, and the rest was held down with rubber seal like used on doors of cars.

never leaked and i had a caravan sized double bed that was suspended in a frame from the top of the sides in an alloy frame like a roof rack.. was so comfortable and so easy to erect as it had 2 gas struts to lift it up.

intend doing the same to my 95 defender over the next year or two....maybe

inc, was that the original series roof?
mine is a fibreglass job and doesn't include the first 18 inches or so over the front seats, bit agricultural but it certainly works as I can walk through the whole cabin standing up if so desired.

I was in a local bike shop the other day when a Defender Hardtop went past with a lift up roof. I ran outside to see it, much to the dismay of the shop staff, to see it disappear.
It was the neatest pop top I have seen, the roof shape was like the original, starting about 300mm from the front going all the way to the back. Very neat, not like a Dormobile at all.
    Does anyone know any more.
