Bit late getting to the thread, but just mention that I have a water tank similar to this. As has already been pointed out a water tank version is desirable. Mine has a 20mm filler hose (and a vent hose) going to a filler neck and screw cap under the bonnet just behind the coolant tank. There is a lockable tap on the back of it steadied with a bracket onto the outrigger just in front of the sedimenter. It does not have the bit wrapping under the outrigger, and my view is that this is an unnecessary complication. (With the Isuzu having the exhaust outside the chassis on the LH side, this leaves a nice big space inside the chassis - which on mine is occupied by an auxiliary fuel tank.

    hi guys..

i'll be up for doing some shortly... just got family over at the moment.. once they are gone then i'll be there...

Pete.. are you going to knock the 2d's out in dxf and pdf form also? maybe just as a zipped file as the dxf compress down nicely so should stay small. i wonder if inc has any download storage repository kinda thing in the forum software?

as i said... couple of weeks and i'll be able to help... feel free to pm me mean time tho (cant over work pete too soon!)

    Thanks

    Hi Steve,

Yep definetley regarding the DXF files. Especially important if stuff is to be lasered and so on too.

I think your right. We need somewhere to put the files, just putting them into this topic wont work. We also need some sort of revision control so if someone has an idea, or finds an issue we can assess it and update the files...

Wow it sounds more and more like work! lol

i guess for the revision control we just add that to the file name on the pdf / dxf and just have the latest issue on the actual generated drawing file (the solidworks inventor or whatever file) , old issues are kept purely by the old dxf/pdf files.

file names are a larger subject.. so what would your thoughts be on that?

by the way i have a FTP server running pretty much 24/7 (and at very worst can be up and running at request!) so i can host the files.. its not like they will be adding much to my upload / download limits.. but i would prefer to add users and have some control over it..

hmm just noticed there is a repository here... under 'files' at the top... wonder if we could use this as that should work... but may need a few sub categories added.. or a slightly different layout?

im also thinking that adding subscriber status could be good for keeping guys making a quick quid out of it also (also forces me to stop being lazy and subscribe!)

    more thoughts pete? anyone?

    Thanks

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

Some good ideas there. I think your Ftp site could be a goer, if the files area doesnt work. I suppose if possible keeping it in the forum would be sensible.

File names are an interesting one...

possibly have a folder structure like

    Defender
    110
    Protection

Then the file called 'Rock Sliders 110'

Few potential issus tho including, what happens when we get more than one type of 110 rock slider!

Also if a product can fit both say RR Classic and Disco 1, say a long range tank, would you put that in both...

Subscribers only could be good too, but so far, you and I arent and we have the cad software lol!

Also possibly need to have a caveat on the drawings saying that the person who sketched the item and who ever drew it in CAD, and also the site ar not rsponsible for any errors / ommisions etc etc...

    Pete
