    Yes don't worry.

I suspect dseddn/Alan's issue was the oil causing the bronze bits to break down which in turn caused heating which in turn caused other things to break - fed on itself.

Use the right oil and with normal use you will not have an issue. Most 101s, Stage 1s, RRs are still running around with their original transfer cases - change the oil regularly and keep it fresh and the odds are there will be no issues.

Just in case you do not know, you need to know that a complete LT95 gearbox/tfr combo out of a RR or Stage 1 will not go into a 101. The bell housing and gearbox input shaft is shorter on the 101. So if you wanted to use a complete unit out of another non 101 vehicle you would have to swap the bell housing and the gearbox input shaft.

Sorry if you already know this

    Cheers

    Thanks Garry
I did know that but wasn't thinking about the swap, I would have to partly strip mine to do it, might as well just use the parts out of the box I get and do a full rebuild of mine with a tapered roller kit.

the complete transfer case can be rebuilt in situ, these are a very user serviceable and simple trans. I will be sticking with mine! After the work it has done I am very pleased with it

Hi dseddn. Ive got a Cummins 6bt turbo diesel 6 pot and Spicer Box coming out from the UK. Not sure of the numbers but its the heavier gearbox of the two choices offered in the older Daf 45's. The other option was the ZF S5-42. Both are a 5 speed. To be honest tho IMO, if what you have against the Mazda works and you are happy with it, why change it? I'm only going down the truck box route because I plan to push 200+ BHP and over 500nm of torque thru it.. Should be fun in a 101!! Your other option is to find a box that fits against the Mazda then make it fit an LT230.. The wife is in Moonta next weekend so I'll tell her to watch out for a red 101!!

The problem won't reappear after taper rollers are fitted, leave the LT95 in there

Sad to hear. It is certainly an impressive 101.
I would love to but don't have the space.
