Awesome!
I think I'm going to have to make an effort to see this in person some time...![]()
Well, the transfer box is rebuilt and in!!! The handbrake assy is on, along with the props.. Oil is in, the muffler is fitted so its 'stand back' time!!!!With a turn of the key and removal of the chock (handbrake linkage tomorrow eve), we're off!!! Momentarily forgetting the welded gear, welded props, etc etc etc, I find the right foot buried to the floor and I'm off up the road at what seems fairly fast!! Gearing is nice and tall (first is needed when taking off), and 5th has things flashing by at a decent rate with engine revs at a high idle.. (Just ask Yorkie!!!! He was daft enough to sit next to me on the second blast!
) We were both hanging on as we flew down the dirt with no rear body, no roof, no doors, no engine or gearbox covers.... There will be a video soon! Think its time to finish it off now. Jobs still to do.. Fit the D2 Air Governor which controls the compressor (Thanks Nick for the advice.. Ebay came up trumps at $20!! Cheep I thought.) finish the air pipework, investigate why the brakes are not as good as they were.. (Vacuum issue), refit the rear body, doors, etc etc etc, and then we'll do a decent blast!

Great work Simon!
Look forward to catching up at Melrose, if I don't get to see you before..
Peter.
Looking great Simon,
Mines still coming together slowly, hopefully it's going to start cooling down a bit over here so might be more inclined to spend more time in the shed.
We were planning to make the pilgrimage to Melrose to meet you guys but have the rangy in a winch comp the week after so might see about next year.
Cheers
Ian
lookin good mate... video is a must!
that valve was cheap... mine was £45 new.
Im tempted to have a vacuum reserviour and hook it up to compressor intake... mine arent as good as id want either with all that power...
you enjoy it now... get a power pin in and wind the pump up... youl be grinning like you belong in a padded cell...
This the one you're talking about???

thats the one but shop around!
The guys on 4BTswaps have bench-tested 4BT and 6BT VE pumps to provide ~180cc/1000 shots of diesel without aftermarket fuel pins.
180cc/1000 shots is enough for over 1000Nm and 300kw. But you need to provide around 50psi boost.
What I'm saying is. You've got more than enough fuel on tap already. Tuning it in correctly is the only thing you need to do and you need an EGT gauge and boost gauge for that.
