I'd say it is for the oil sensor. Check the threads. Also look on Youtube there is a series of vids showing how to fit the EMS to a 300 tdi defender it might help you.
Hi lads
got a brass tee piece with the EMS2 does any body know is this for the boost sensor or to put the original oil sensor back in with the new oil sensor as to not have the oil light on all the time on the dash.
Thanks Declan![]()

So how do these work? Do you have to keep scrolling through to keep an eye on things or can you program set max and min and it alarms if outside that range ?
I'm interested but it is a LOT of money and convincing the missus is.... difficult.

Alarms are set up when you get them from hte factory ,you can change the alarm to what every you want to and you can scroll thru them manual or set it up to scroll auto.
it does not matter which one you stay on if a alarm arises the EMS 2 goes straight to what the problem is.

I must be dumb - when you order it do you just specify what engine and it comes with all the sensors ? Someone mentioned a "kit" but I can;t see it on any of those websites ?
How do the costs cmpare importing versus buying locally ?

I'm not sure what's happening with the website at the moment. When I ordered mine there was a kit like the one shown for the Toyota - brought that, the unit itself and the extended harness.
Might be worth e-mailing them and asking them politely to get their **** together
Cheers

which particular website are you referring to mate ?

Les Richmond Auto stock the kits - pricey but, they increased their prices a few months ago. They are the complete kit, bolt in, very very easy to do. Kits suit either 300 or td5.
Can not direct link LRA's pages, old school website in frames or something - just go Vehicle Accessories, Choose a car, Low Level Coolant Sensor or something, will link to Madmans products and pricing.

South African Madman site - you have to buy the head unit and engine kit separately, plus postage over to here

Also Nata enterprises but they didn't seem to stock bolt in kits for 300/td5, just the EMS head units.
They are pricey bits of kit, but they monitor numerous important things, easily and simply with one small head unit. If you bought all individual it would probably cost more and you would have 5 or more gauges/displays to place all over the dash.
I have mine set to automatically scroll through sensors every 3 seconds.
As said alarms can be set to what ever level you want for each sensor (low alarm and high alarm), or can turn off alarm (low or high), very easy to set up. Once set up (5min job) you basically never touch it again, just scrolls through
Also the green back lighting is unoffensive at night time, and the display is still perfectly readable in full sunlight direct on unit.
