Yep, Suttons gets my thumbs up too... 
It sounds like the oil light didn't come on as there it still had oil to draw from. Hopefully, that should be a good sign.

I have only just read this thread. I only read the forum every couple of days. Sorry as I live in Alice, the funny thing is I would have said the same thing SUTTON MOTORS is the way to go.
I bought my defender new from there in 97 and can 100% say they are the best for service, parts and advise.

Just a quick heads up for everybody who helped Brendon out. As of last Friday, he's been back on the road again. "Landie is going beautifully", in his words. By the sounds of what he says, the two litres of oil left in the sump after the oil hose blew was just enough to prevent further damage. Last word was that he and his are camped out at the Devil's Marbles and having a great time. Good to see that everything worked out well.
