Allisport are about $760 before freight. I would be interested in seeing how they stack up against each other.

I just spent five hours fitting the intercooler with the help of a friend, after I was advised by some people that it was a 2-hour job

My advice: get it fitted by an indie.

On the plus side, I took a drive to Stellenbosch and back and now instead of looking for a 7th gear, it feels like the landy needs an 8th gear as well!

I have just bought a 55mm radiator from PWR, it will be installed later this month together with an intercooler from Bruce Davis who just remapped my ECU , I removed an existing DTUK tuner which was great unit and is for sale in the Marketplace section. The DTUK produces loads of power but doesn’t cancel out the EGR like the ECU reflash from Bruce.

As for the reflash, it doesn’t go much better than the DTUK just a little smother , but the EGR cancel out was what I wanted and was suggested for the new intercooler combination.

I’m told by Bruce that once the intercooled is fitted it’s going to be at another level of performance. But the higher performance will definitely produce more heat which is the reason he recommends a bigger and better cooling system for his top end performance ECU upgrades .

Let’s wait and see how mine turns out .

I'm noticing lower EGTs with the Allisport intercooler. The BAS remap also produces lower EGTs than the standard map.

That's interesting - I just did the BAS remap and will be fitting an Allisport in the next week or so.

What setup do you have to monitor EGT? I was thinking I should look into this as part of my upgrades.

Why the BAS Remap lower the EGTs ?

Probably because the remap makes the engine operate more efficiently by regulating the diesel-air mix better. This results in better combustion and lower EGTs

but I could be wrong. best to ask an expert

Sorry, incorrect. There is no way that the engine would pass emissions testing unless the engine was operating efficiently.

Increasing boost lowers EGTs. It is likely that is the answer.

Would de-tuning the engine also not result in lower emissions?

But you are probably right wrt the boost.
