    2.2 Puma vs 2.4 Puma

    Hi All,
not sure if anyone here can help me with this yet but i am looking to purchase a 130 puma in the next few months but this whole 2.2 "Upgrade" is putting me off buying a new one, 2.2(even 2.4) seems to small for a big 130.

What i would like to know is what are the performance upgrades for this new motor like, i know its not out yet but isnt this the same motor the freelander currently gets? I plan on trying to squeeze as much power out of the 130 without killing it and going smaller just doesnt make sense.

Also does anyone know the timeframe for when we stop receiving 2.4's, if i order a new one say in 2 months or so will i still be able to get the 2.4? when is the cut over date? I like the idea of getting the latest, and would really like leather interior(apparently an option coming with the new motor) just scared off by the 2.2

    Thanks,

    Mick

Never driven the 2.2 but the 2.4 goes pretty good, plenty of chip/IC/exhaust upgrades for it too.Ring around the dealers and find out who has a 2.4 130 and buy it. Pat

Your dealer should (but probably won't or can't) tell you when the old model will cease being available - but it will depend not only when the new ones first start coming in, but when they manage to sell all the old ones, which in turn will depend on how good they were at guessing future sales volumes six months ago!

Also, don't count on all models and options advertised being available here - this is particularly likely to apply to things such as leather interiors.

I beleive they start manufacturing the new model years in September.
    This applies to all Landrovers.

You should be able to get MY12 in late 2011.

I ordered a 110 in late May of this year, and was informed by the dealer that it was built last week. So that is 16 weeks from order to factory output. I would guess, therefore, that ordering one now would turn out to have a 2.2l engine in it, if the new model starts manufacturing from September. Better try and source a floor car from somewhere in Oz......

Try Lennock Motors in Canberra (02 62507203). Pretty sure I saw a 130 twincab when I went past earlier this week. Justin Cornock is the man to ask for.

    Cheers
