    I am so inexperienced with Defenders!

    Yes am asking about front halfshafts at diff end. Just wondering if I want to fit a Truetrack or ARB air-locker to the front what I have to do/get. I also have the possibility of buying a front axle assembly off a 1996 Defer 130 and want to know if it's worth it or should I just go out and get a pair of ventilated rotor calipers.

    On the diff issue, do the Truetracks, ARB or Maxidrive lockers replace the whole hemisphere and if that's the case can I get inner halfshafts to adapt between the diff and the early Defender CV?

    (Already investigated getting spacers and the price is more than getting later calipers. Although it confuses mechanics when they order parts off the VIN and they don't fit as happened with my RRc Vague's brakes last week.)

    My Rovertracks front inner axles are 24 spline at the diff and suit the aeu2522 cvs, 23 spline by memory. Truetracks, if same as Ashcroft ATBs, replace the diff centre the rest of the diff is reused.
    Ashcroft's air locker might be better than the ARB.

    Diana, Chris' Defender is the last of the 200Tdi, an 'LA' VIN. These had basically the same running gear( 24 spline axles, smaller CV's and 4 wheel discs) as the 'MA' VIN 300Tdi version, introduced in the same year, except still retained the LT77.

    These were a great model IMO, good (Vented front and solid rear discs) brakes and strong axles, and a 200Tdi couldn't hurt the CV's unless driver abuse or neglect takes place.

    Can't wait to see the 150 completed

    ARB lockers only require the centre to be changed out - you can use the standard axles etc with no issues. Obviously there's a compressor and air lines etc to route/install though. The combination works great - I run front and rear due to towing (and destroying my standard ones).....

    Standard '91 10 spline or standard '94 24 spline axles?

    As you can imagine, standard 10 spline axles and lockers don't mix well USe the 94 24 spline I just fitted an airlocker to the front of a 1985 110, tossed the inner 10 spline axles and used Hituff inners to mate up to the AEU2522 county CV's. This vehicle is still running county brakes on the front but now has a 24 spline ARB and stronger inner axles to match the 24spline salisbury maxi axles it already runs with an ARB airlocker rear. This is a simple and well set up turbo isuzu 110.

    I agree entirely Justin.This is exactly the same model that I have.Mine was manufactured in October 93,200Tdi Lt77 with vented front discs solid rears and 24 spline axles.Mine had 340,000km on it when I replaced them.
    The only reason I replaced them is because I added front Locker and fitted 35's and give the old girl a real hard time,but she just keeps coming back for more.

    And on the subject of transmissions, just fitted an Ashcroft stubby R380 into a 200Tdi 90, what a transformation! Best upgrade to a 200tdi equipped 110 instead of trying to rebuild a LT77 when there are fewer and fewer parts (read SHIMS etc) available to do them properly. Lsst one I did last year was the last one I'll ever do again, took 3 times as long as I had to try and source correct shims and even had to surface grind one thinner to make correct. What a time waster that you can't charge for
    Its R380 conversions from now on for me.

    It was recommended and I did as suggestted that standard (300Tdi) defender cvees and front locker would not go well together. Too much stress on the cvees when locked ? I got the 2522 cvees and stronger rods that connect steering components and wheels.
