I gave a very late wave to a Defender, a week or two ago. It had a "Defenders Australia" windscreen sticker on it. I think it was just North of the Sunny Coast, on the Bruce. I'm assuming they would have reciprocated, if they noticed my wave.

Took my daily drive a 1957 S1 shorty hardtop painted matt black and white roof into Gympie for my weekly shopping this morning.
Exchanged waves with a neat grey Defender packed for touring, heading north just out of town.
Got a big wave from a maroon defender with a trailer crossing the Hawkesbury river bridge at north Richmond on Monday!
Who else waves at all LR products? I don't always, but the blank looks from Evoque owners can be rather funny sometimes. (part-time Defender driver here)

In the "S M E G" entering North Richmond exchanged waves with a well set up 130 (being in the new one I usually flash high beam before waving).
