Thread: Where's the Defender wave gone?

Last week Perth to Brisbane 5 defender's 4 hand out the window smiling from ear to ear waves , and a slightly aggressive look from a 110 owner somewhere in-between Port Augusta and Broken Hill

Trip from Sydney to Port Macquarie today saw 5 Defenders - 2 waves, watched the other 3 who weren't aware I was there, so all hope is not yet lost
That's 5 Deefers in a 450km trip and I lost count of the Prados, Cruisers and other Jap bits and bobs (flotsam and jetsam) that litter our roads. Makes me feel kinda special, it does

I've come to a conclusion,,

Whilst driving through SA over the last two weeks, most drivers of other brands of, cars, 4x4's, trucks, have an incredible sense of respect for the Land Rover brand,, and in my case, Defenders

I've had so many waves my arms sore

We're running between Melb, through the back blocks of the Big Desert, through to Port Peirie (s?) and through to Port Augusta, Wyalla, and into Tumby Bay, and have had quite a few waves, both instigated by myself and them.



These have been from fellow Defers, Discos and one very white D4,, "Hi Mike" (Tombie)



It's made for a very pleasant trip, even though we've had some problems with the car,, hopefully to be fixed tomorrow at Port Lincoln.

Unrelated: Do you remember getting a wave from a Unimog somewhere near the SA / Vic border about September last year? I remember waving to a silver puma 130, thought that it might have been yours Chops

Got 3 waves in Tassie between Bicheno and Launceston. Two white and one orca blue. Saw a Maroon one in Bicheno which looked like it was local.
