Thread: Where's the Defender wave gone?

I tend to get less waves from pumas

Coming back from Gympie last Friday we were overtaken by a Disco 1 towing a camper trailer: the couple in the disco both waved enthusiastically (with thumbs up!!) as they went past!
They pulled over down the road but I had a semi on my tail so couldn't pull over to see if they were OK.
More than happy to wave to a Disco owner if they wave first.

The Defender / Land Rover wave seems to be alive and we'll in SA.

We're running between Melb, through the back blocks of the Big Desert, through to Port Peirie (s?) and through to Port Augusta, Wyalla, and into Tumby Bay, and have had quite a few waves, both instigated by myself and them.

These have been from fellow Defers, Discos and one very white D4,, "Hi Mike" (Tombie)

It's made for a very pleasant trip, even though we've had some problems with the car,, hopefully to be fixed tomorrow at Port Lincoln.

saw a nice 130 in maccas at glen innes then at Armidale for fuel. was a dual cab with a slide on camper van. looked very nice. Waved but got a blank look as wife was driving her impreza. Who makes trayon campers??

Drove 1800k's from Central Coast NSW to Seaforth (Mackay QLD) only saw one defender a nice 90, the whole way.

Gave him a good wave......no response !

I went Yak fishing the other day,got a good wave from a Td5,a Perentie owner nearly waved his arm off at me,saw a canary yellow 90 that lives near me,a silver X-Tech 90 from the Naval base and to top it all off a very nice lady started to chat me up at the beach about my Tdi,she said defers are cool machines and really likes the bronze one she see's parked there,as Tracey pulls up in the bronze one,she didn't share our,lets say joy of defender ownership seeing me getting chatted up by a leggy young lady in a two piece,anyway,plenty of defer owners here and plenty of waving.. Hey, I'm lucky if I get the wave. You not only get the wave, you also get chatted up by an attractive bikini clad chick!
Think I might change the colour of my Defender from boring (and obviously not very sexy) dark green.

Got a very enthusiastic wave from a family in a blue Defender in Mitchelton and then saw them again on Bribie. And got a wave from a red Defender on Bribie as well.
Have had a crap couple of weeks though with no waves back!
