Driving home tonight in Albany and got a wave from a bloke in a white (or maybe silver?) Disco II on eastern states plates. I was a bit taken aback and it took me a moment to process, but I did try to wave back, though I think we were passing one another by that point, so sorry fella! It made more sense when I rounded the bend and got a big wave from the driver of a white 110 and then by the driver of a red Disco II following behind. I managed to wave back to both of them; I assume all three were travelling in convoy.
I broke down this afternoon coming home from work, I am VERY disappointed that the 110 didn't stop to see if I was alright. The Prado did though, friends. Big Red came, a fiddle with the fuel pump etc and I was off again and made it home:D I do think I need an electric fuel pump then some problems would be solved.
Mrs hh
Even a how to article in Land Rover Monthly
Driving home from wide bay I gave a big wave (and reciprocated) from a nice looking red defender at Tincan bay. I think he was a little shocked. I was in a G-Wagon.
I tried to explain to my co-driver about the defender wave but he just said I was sad. I don't care though.
Cheers.
It took me three weeks to finally drive by a Defender when I got mine not long ago, sad thing was I was late to wave on the first two I came across in one day who wher waving joyously. Though I am now probably too over enthusiastic when others go by.
Though very happy to get my first wave from a nice series today out at Everton Hills:)
Nice big wave and "G'day" at the lights from a beastly ex-mil landy along Gininderra Drive yesterday :)
It was a sad weekend for the Defender wave this weekend.
Coming back from kenilworth we passed several, if not loads (?) of Defenders (and one lovely Series 1) along the Bruce Highway. Only got one, yes ONE wave back. Kerry, who is a hard hearted woman nearly shed a little tear. Is it us she said?, holding back a tear - slightly choked. No my little poppet I said. Its them!
Shame on them. They should all be driving Freelanders!
Cheers all.
Capertee to Sydney today over bells line of road - 7 defenders, 7 waves. The defender wave lives!
