Having only just gotten my D2 on the road again i'll have to get back in the habit.
I did surprise a Defender driver on Northcott Dr Kotara with a wave the other day.

Not sure, maybe a green one.
Just catching up on this thread now. Still a noob, but at least my "peace sign" wave is considered acceptable, I'm relieved to see.
Often I'm guilty of not noticing Defenders and their enthusiastic waves. If one of them was you, my apologies. I was likely distracted (and amused) by all the 5-9 year old kids pointing, waving and tugging on their dad's shirts. I usually manage to lip read the child's frantic exclamation: "Army truck!" Before I catch the (usually male) parent's double take, quickly followed by raised eyebrows. If the female partner is in attendance, there is usually a follow up glance in her direction, perhaps in anticipation of a reprimand, but I may be over-analysing at this point and ... Oh bugger, I missed the wave from that Defender just went past.
Yeah. That's how it is.
Yes still getting waves from defenders :D
Got a nice thumbs up from a Toyota driver the other day whilst driving big Red:confused: must be 1 of you guys in work vehicles :) and a 110 yesterday morning, I have never seen that 1 before, this at 5.30am so assume he is new to the area or going home after a night out:D

Motorcycling friends of mine have often commented how BMW riders only nod or wave at other BMW riders. I think there is a PhD research grant to be had to investigate the Landy Wave and its derivatives. I remember when I got my '94 Discovery V8. I waved at all the other Disco drivers and got a fair few in return (1996). When the wife ran off with the Disco and I was left alone with just me and Wally (94 110 Hard Top), I took solace in waving only at Series and Defenders. I would return waves from other models, but never initiate them. Being made single (as in just one Land Rover in the driveway) does that, I guess.

Bought a Land Rover Monthly yesterday which has a two page spread calling on LR owners to bring back the Land Rover wave. Apparently only Defender drivers still wave in the UK. Is that true here too?
Is this the one to subscribe to or is there a more specific Defender one, (Digital only)
