Where's the Defender wave gone?

New 130 Tdci kitted out and....

No wave. :(

We were out in Gracie this afternoon in the Mornington area, we saw two LandRovers, an early Series (with top down!), and a silver 110,.....got a wave from both of them,...Good stuff.

I was stopped at a set of traffic lights near Central Station when a Government bus pulled up beside me and the driver opened his doors. I immediately thought I was going to get told off for something like going too slow. But the bus driver bloke smiled and said "Nice Defender!" giving me a big thumbs up... Then the lights turned green and the bus took off and I sat there for a few seconds dazed before I realised that the bus was full of passengers looking at me and that I should already be moving.

I couldn't stop smiling all day after that!

We've noticed that we get less waves from new white ones than all other colours. That said the most enthusiastic waves we've had have been from white Td5's.:)

Confession time. I'd say I'm one of the better wavers out there in my beat-up 130, but now that I'm back in sydney I have to say the experience of driving in this hell-hole proves so stressful I sometimes miss the opportunity to salute my fellow green-oval drivers.

However in the last couple of weeks driving from darwin, through brisbane and onto the VHC and back to Sydney we've done our share of waving. Plenty of the un-anointed refusing to wave and one poor girl on her P's in I assume her dads pride and joy PUMA, very much focussing on the road!

I got a very enthusiastic wave out of the drivers window and the passenger window from a red 90 on the way to work last night..very happy dad and his young fella..we all wave here in the west

use the right wave

Driving up to the Watagans on Friday arvo for a cheeky night under the stars and I got a wave from each of the three Defenders I passed.

Most impressive was the wave from the Bear Rentals Defender on the opposite side of the Freeway! I wonder if the rental chaps inform all customers that if they see another Defender, they must wave?

Marvellous stuff.

Quick trip over to Fyshwick this morning. Saw 3 defenders and shared 3 waves :D

I get a few confused looks - I wave whether I'm in the Disco, the Freelander, the missus' Santa Fe or the Kenworth!
