everyone (I think) - even a Jeep driver - would wave across the Nullabor

They have jumped on the band wagon.. not so sure it's taking off though as I've yet to see any jeep drivers wave to each other..

Methinks you need to brush up on your history Sue, Jeep drivers were waving to each other right across this wide brown and green land when I was a little tacker in the early seventies
The Jeep wave isn't a new thing.

Hi all. I have just returned from a trip to Tasmania and all Defender drivers I encountered except one , waved. The exception was looking over his shoulder at a rear seat passenger while at a traffic light , so he probably shouldn't be counted, as he didn't see me. On that basis, the wave is still going well. Cheers, 130man.

The wave is alive and well here in Townsville. I pass a white 110 on the way to work each morning at 700 am on Ingham Road and he always waves. I am in the grey 90 if he reads this.

Last night on Peninsula Link I got a wave and a flash of the headlights. Made my day.
