i think that i need to get myself a defender as ppl do not seem to appreciate the wave from a disco, we had one when i was kid and i remember thinking it pretty cool when billy and max used to wave at the passer by's when we went out west shooting in nsw.
just doesn't seem to happen here
I've banned my wife from driving my car as she refuses to wave or acknowledge the other Fenders, Countys etc.
I can't repeat here on this forum what she says, but suffice to say, I'm looking for a new wife![]()
Since we got the Defender I've taken up waving at LRs, but I don't get many responses, especially from Rangies.
i get a wave back about 90% of the time. either that or a toot. ended up stopping right next to a 110 a couple of months ago at the lights, had a chat and said hello. not many people my age with a defender. (23)
I've been driving defenders as my only standard automobile (excluding motorcycles) for some time.. Over the weekend I was driving a G-Wagon and didn't really think much of it as I waved to a defender.. no wave back from the other guy though.. I think he may have been confused by a stranger in a merc waving at him..
My auto wave gesture is hard wired..
While not a Defender wave I got a great wave from John "Roothy" Rooth in his Milo (FJ40?) on the Western Fwy just outside Beaufort on Sun. At least I guess it was him, certainly was the car (and beard!).
