I run a fleet of Tojo vans, have done for many years,so I know them pretty well.
Wouldn't run anything else.
I talk to guys in our industry that run other types, particularly European vans and they have numerous issues.
Hyundai is the only one that comes close.
Seven out of every ten vans sold are Tojos.
That doesn't happen for no reason.
In fact the one I drive just clocked 255K,never had an issue, haven't even touched the brakes.
Just my 2cents worth.
From "real world" experience
And the picture above tells a story, and that is that Toyota have had the mining market for years and this is a substantial chunk of the total market.
I would like to see Toyota fleet pricing as I reckon it is a substantial reduction on retail price . Their market dominance is like IBM for many years "Nobody gets fired for buying IBM"
The pricing that Toyota demands for retail also sets the market and I find it incomprehensible that retail buyers are willing to pay such exorbitant prices for utes which have the same or inferior features to sedans of the same price.
You can get a Mercedes C class for 55K and probably even less!
I believe that Mitsubishi are about the only ones who price at a realistic level that gives them a substantial profit at a reasonable retail. It costs very little to make a ute a bit bigger than the Mitsubishi so the extra is just profit.
As long as you don't push the limits with loading and are willing to compromise a little on handling (only a little) the Triton is by far the best value ute on the market IMHO. Cheers

For a commercial work vehicle,i doubt there would be a better vehicle for the job.
Mining companies aren't silly.....,nor are most businesses,or they wouldn't be around long.
Total vehicle ownership costs, that is ALL costs from purchase to sold, would have to be pretty close to the best in the market.
As for fleet discounts, they have different scales. We get a fleet discount, but it would be nowhere near what big industry would get.
Telstra probably get vans for around half to two thirds the price we pay for them.
All this fleet stuff is a closely guarded secret.
Actually scarry dollar for dollar LV's are the most expensive vehicles on a mine site and don't believe the hype, regardless of badge they get parts thrown at them like crazy. Pat
