as stated above - no
the exhaust on the perentie was of course modified at the time of turbo installation and an allowance was made to clear the larger tyres at the lhs rear
However - you need to be aware that the gearing with 255/85 16s becomes a little too high for a standard Defender with a 300tdi & R380
I often hear that D1 steel rims are not load rated for a Defender and a definite no-no for a 130.
Now I have here a D1 steel rim and a 130 steel rim.
Both have a centre metal thickness of 8 mm
Both have a rim metal thickness of 3.5 mm
Both have rims welded to centres with 4 spaced runs of weld 140mm long.
So why is the rating supposedly different?
What am I missing here? Steel spec.?
Anyone?
Terry
