Don't be afraid to talk to a couple of LR dealers, there was around a $8k difference in price between my local dealer and the next closest dealer in Sydney on my new 110. When taken to task the local dealer could and did match the Sydney dealer.

It's very handy to know there's some room for the dealers to move and saving up to 5k is nothing to sneeze at. I'm sure Vyvyan would agree! I'm surprised they have that much room.

After looking in to DSC (my last thread re. towing and DSC) I will buy one with this feature. So it's a brand new one for me (after I confirm the Aus delivery MY2015's DO have DSC?)

I'm actually overseas for a while so I'll be buying it from here so it's there for my return (and the next lap 'round). Having not had a new one it will be interesting to compare it to my current 1996 model that's waiting at home. Fun!
I pick mine up 10/9 (i hope) and will confirm DSC is on the Oz model, although they say it is.
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Not many really. But you should atleast be able to get out of paying the dealer delivery charges and a free set of genuine floormats (a ripoff at $300rrp).

The dealer will always grimace and groan when you suggest a lower price...take no notice of them. I guess the best thing I could advise is, be 'firm but fair'.

Ive been a service manager for 9 years. My advise is.
Buy the car in the last 5 days of the month but dont leave it till the last day. Finance and everyone else might not be able to make the dead line. August and September are good months as sales are traditionally a little lower. The sales man, sales manager, dealer principal and the manufacturer all want to hit their targets.
Try and buy one in stock. Sales people are generally incented higher for selling out of stock and all dealer principals want their stock count down. The floor plans generally owned by a finance company so the dealer is paying interest every day the car is there.
    Good luck.

Pretty hard to top that advice! Just go in armed with the best deal you can from negotiations with 3-4 dealers then take the best deal from the most hungry dealer. Dont feel bad as they make their money back from services and parts.

    Bought it!

I've just paid a deposit on a new Landie after sending seven dealers an enquiry and receiving replies from three.

I lucked it in. The dealer at Massaro Motors in Morwell, VIC replied that they were about to take delivery of a MY15 Keswick Green w. Fuji white roof Station Wagon incl. MT tyres, front mud flaps, rubber mats and tow pack. As it's a MY15 it has dynamic stability control. Exactly what I wanted. I was very happy with the drive away price so job done. It arrived at the dealer's 24hrs later. The process couldn't have been quicker or easier.

I wanted to say thanks to everyone for your tips.

This will be the last 110 I'll ever buy.

    Let the fun continue...
