What it could be is going over the vehicle tightening everything, they charged you extra to cover the labor, they did that with mine, every nut and bolt from steering to suspension got re-torqued. Pat

Well, if that's what they did, I'd be VERY happy!
Still looking for any other of your first servicing costs if possible, before I speak to the Dealer tomorrow?

Hi Pickles, I was quoted over $600. I was pleasantly surprised when it came in at just over $400.

My guess would be they forgot to move the turbo hose part into the warranty section - happened on mine but the advisor realised just before I was about to point it out. Good luck!

    Hi Syd110,

The 80,000km or 48 month is a beast of a service as they change every drop of fluid, do a complete health check (4 pages of check list) and an adjustment to anything found.

Could be around $1,600 from some reports depending on vehicle condition, but I was lucky with just under $1,200 which was further reduced by 20% as our local main dealer is our main club sponsor. Hence my car still being serviced by the dealer after warranty's run out.

    Cheers,

    Lou

Well I'm not supprised about all the warranty claims people over east are making if thats the case.I drove my vehicle to the dealer straight from doing a month in the Kimberly so everything was covered in red dirt,it was easy to see the spanner marks on the nut/bolt heads. Pat

At an independent i had my first service done, @ 5,000 km, when it was 3 weeks old. Mainly because they were hard k's on the Birdsville & Stresleki,
    Tracks.

Engine Oil & Filter and a couple of hours inspecting, labour was 110 per hour, total cost $397.

Dealer had it penciled in for 10,000 but i will probably let it run to 15,000 km & 12 months.

What is the LR normal labour rate?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
