    Temperature measurements

I'm just wondering how everyone monitors their engine temperatures.

EGT, oxygen sensor, sensor attached to a bolt on the head, water temperature, oil temperate...

What is the best way to monitor engine temperature?

    Thanks, Dave.

On my 300tdi I have a sensor attached to a bolt on the head and one attached to the thermostat housing. Both are normally within a couple of degrees of each other, though sometimes i can see up to 8 degrees difference, normally as the engine is warming up.

...probably due to the thermostat being closed below operating temperature.

What temperatures do you reach with the bolt on the head in Summer over here?

I have a bolt on my head to an engine watchdog and get up around 90 on a hot day.
