One idea is to spray the underneath of your car with diesel or thin oil, not the exhaust, as it will help for a while to stop the slop sticking. It will also make it easier to clean after.

I dont mind washing mine after a decent weekend or holidays. I polish it also once a year. I use the process to find half the **** that has fallen off it, started leaking, or needs replacing. And given its 60k + anothet 20k in accessories I'm happy to have my 2010 defer looking 2015. Im certinally in no hurry to have a desire to look out at a chalky defer with rusted door hinges. Its a work truck that lives outside so it never gets a break. And if its a first world problem, I see it as also looking after my first world consumption.

Caffe latte, have you got yourself some front mud flaps, they are a worthy investment.

by the look of things I'm a bit of a weirdo too I love washing mine. Shouldn't say this here but I even pop the bonnet to do the overlap on the top of the guards, engine bay inside the doors and annually pull all the flooring out and wash that too. That's what happens when you only work 5 months a year. What's even more ocd is the dealer washed it wasn't happy with the black stuff he sprayed on it so washed it again.

No I havnt, but I agree you are right a lot of stones and mud would not end up all over the side of the car if I had them.

My other car is going to takes me hours and hours, there is more muddy road base on the car than on the darn road!!
Also what they are doing right now is laying the road base and then laying a layer of cement and a grader is passing over and mixing the two, then we get to drive on it and have the fun of coating unset cement slurry all over our cars
I hope there is no damage to my other cars, but whatever that cement loaded mud it going to take some getting off.

We're all weirdos! I love washing mine really. Especially the old fella, he's getting chalky poor bugger, but he loves a polish even though it only lasts a few weeks these days!

It is not so bad when it is dry, but when wet it makes such a mess. Today I was happy as the weather was good, but at the roadworks a water truck pulled in front of me and sprayed water allover the place, I came home covered in cement mud Another wash it seems..
