    Rough Parts

    Hi Pommy and Tombie.
Yes, approx $1350 AU shekels, each side for Gull Wing, Box, Sand ladder bracket and table.
Postage will be a killer at around $700 AU.
I'm just waiting for the final quote, as I was offered a slight discount if I went ahead.
I'm aware I can buy Aussie sourced Gull wings and storage box, but this setup is just so well thought out, I want to go with it.
    Best wishes fellas.
    Ken

Now that vehicle is just too clean! Mine won't ever look like that even when I've spent hours washing, scrubbing and polishing ready to sell. I'm not sure any new car I've bought looked as perfect as that!
First tentative steps made with the stealer today......

I've heard this a lot. But if you follow some of my posts you will see it does get very dirty. It just so happens I clean and wash and take care of my 90.

    Side story;

On my way to dinner plain stopped at a petrol station to fill up, as I'm filling up, a guy in his late 40s marches over cowboy style. Comes over and says "has it got lockers?!" I reply "no, it's on the list though" then he says "do you take that thing off road? Looks too clean" I said "yes I do if you look at the sides there are scratches everywhere" then he dropped the tough guy act and told me how he had a defender as his first car. Came across as a real tough guy.

Geez, what is it with having to justify your choice of vehicle to strangers? Who cares whether you take it off-road or not.

Ironically, I find I have to do it a lot less with the Defender than any of the Discos, yet it's the one I've done the least off-roading in (unfortunately ). I just keep getting told it's cool.

    Cheers,
    Jon

I get some pretty tough defenders through here and 90% are used off road Proper. Some are like d90orkney s and cared for / cleaned after their forays however just as many aren't. ... importantly they all get used as intended 😎.

All except my 110 as i don't have any time anymore yo actually USE it...😭😭😭

    Jc
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

People coming up to talk (about your Defender) in a servo.
A familiar situation for many of us I reckon.
We've had a few nice cars, most of them MUCH faster & more expensive than our Defender, but none of them has attracted the comment/attraction that Gracie (our 90) has.
Don't know why this is,...it usually starts when someone else is filling up, ya see them looking at your Defender, & then they come over to talk,...amazing.
A few have said words along the lines of "ya've done a good job restoring that" because they think she's old,..when I tell 'em that she was built in 2013 they are quite surprised!!
But it's all been good, I've had some great discussions, with people I've never met before.

I was told that "real four wheel drives don't come in metallic"... The same person who said that recently purchased a metallic 70 series.. Pot meet kettle.

I get the "restored" point often on my MY15. I should start taking a tally
